20 Months

 

This month brought the news we have been waiting for, Hayden Alan is completely healthy! We saw the Neurologist on January 21st and were told that Hayden had nothing wrong with him and he more than likely had a febrile seizure on December 1^st. We were so happy to know you were alright.

It was a long month waiting for the news. Hayden had an EEG on January 7^th. We told Hudson that his brother had to go to the doctor and he would be staying with Grandma, we didn’t explain to him what he was having done. As soon as Hayden walked in the door from the EEG, he came running over to Hayden and put his hands all over his brothers head and gave him the biggest hug. It was so sweet, we are seeing the bond between you two that only twins have.

Nana and Gramps came to stay this month while we went to Chicago. We had a blast and so did you! You stayed up late and played at the park a lot with your grandparents. I am not sure who had more fun. 

This month brought another round of ear infections, when we went in for our 18 month appointments, a little late, Dr. Nelson told us you both had ear infections, in each ear.

Not a big post this month, but lots of pictures. We love you both so much!

It has been very cold this month.

We developed a huge love of trains this month. We were suppose to go to a birthday party but had to stay home becasue of ear infections. Daddy decided to open the toys for us to play with. We still owe Brady a present!

Mama's best friend, Jessa. We met because we were pregnant at the exact same time with twins. Her girls are two days youger than the boys.

This past year I have taken a picture of the boys every single day. (You can tell when I went back to work). It was a neat project and amazing to see how they have changed over the year. Enjoy!

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas! 

We had a very Merry Christmas! Hayden has a double ear infection that didn't get treated until today (12-26). He still had lots of fun despite his pain, I see tubes in his future. 

I think Mom and Dad were still more excited about Christmas this year than you, but you can tell me that Santa says "Ho, Ho, Ho" and "Merry Christmas". Not a  minute went by that we didn't realize how lucky we are for all of our health.  The biggest hits of the day were your lawn mowers, pizza table, and trucks, trucks, trucks!

19 Months

Wow. It is safe to say our world was turned upside down this month. I have two very brave boys. Hudson you were a rock star this whole month, I thank you for your understanding. I think this will be the month we never forget.

On December 1, 2012 we went to the tree farm to get Grandma and Grandpa’s Christmas tree. When we were headed over to G&G’s house Hayden had a small seizure, what we think was a seizure anyway. You were unresponsive to me, I thought you fell asleep with your eyes open. I screamed your name a few times and you finally snapped out of it for a second and then went right back into being out of it and you rolled your eyes back in your head. I ripped you out of your car seat as your Dad drove to the hospital. It was the scariest moment of my life, I cry just typing this. We got you to snap out of it very quickly, I took your sweatshirt off and noticed your belly was moving. I am not sure if you could tell how upset your Dad and I were. When we got to the hospital the nurses calmed us both down as we discovered you were just fine and probably had a small seizure. Your temperature went from 97.1 up to 100.? We immediately thought it was a fever seizure, your Dad had one at 20 months old but because your temperature did not rise about 102 there was no clear answer. The ER doctor told us to follow up with Dr. Nelson. Dr. Nelson thought we should have a CT scan just to make sure everything was ok. You were amazing for the CT! We thought we would have to sedate you for the procedure but you laid perfectly still for the procedure, I was so proud! Well when we got the results we found out that you have a Lipoma in your tentorium. We freaked. We heard the worst. You needed to have an MRI to get more information on the Lipoma and make sure there was no cancer. This was the longest 5 days of my life. We ended up at the ER again on Dec 7^th for what we thought was another mini seizure. We visited with Dr. Nelson Saturday, December 8^th and he reassured us that the Lipoma was not that bad. We did the MRI on Tuesday, December 11^th. You did a great job but were not happy when you woke up. You screamed in my arms for a solid hour. Broke my heart. You were a happy boy when we got home and got to eat pizza on your Gramps lap. Wednesday, December 12^th (12-12-12) we got the news that there was no cancer! Just an accidental find and you were perfectly healthy. Best day of my life. You still have to follow up in a Neurologist in January to look into your seizure but my friend you do not have cancer!

It is safe to say our lives stopped for 12 days. Never take what you have for granted. Your Dad and I will never look at the two of you the same. We are doing our best to move on with life but it is still hard for us to not stop everything we are doing and just make sure you both are alright.

Hayden:
If you want something you will say, “yea, yea, yea, yea” or a very strong, “no” and push your hand at us. It is pretty cute. You are obsessed with your Bus. I have to come up with ways to get it away from you. Luckily your Grandma and Grandpa ordered more! You love macaroni and cheese and especially like to eat it out of the container. You love to give your brother a hug and kiss, but we have to make sure you do not bite him when you kiss.

Hudson:
Your big thing this month is Elmo, you love Elmo and can name Big Bird, Bert, Ernie, and Oscar. You love to be tickled. You have learned how to go “bump bump” down the stairs. You are the pickiest eater! We struggle finding things besides snacks that you will eat. You love crackers, cookies, bread, anything sweet but do not like meals.  You also love to give kisses and hugs. You are a sweet heart!

Hudson was so upset he couldn't find his brother when he got home from school, (the day of the CT) we had to turn on the monitor for him to see he was home and ok. 

Hudson had a special morning with mama and really wanted to come home with this tractor, maybe next year.

1 ½! My babies are a half a year away from 2. I have no clue where the past 18 months have gone. You two just keep growing and maturing. You are turning into little boys, you really are not babies any more.

Hayden

You love potatoes! You had a blast at Thanksgiving eating potatoes. You are really learning to master the whole spoon thing. You have no fear. You will jump from the slide at Nana’s house onto the couch.

Hudson

You told me yesterday you were stinky! I have started letting you help me flush your “stinky” down the potty, which you think is great fun but I think it really helping you correlate the whole potty thing.

 

Big things this month were, going to Nana and Gramps for Thanksgiving. You did a great job in the car. We have learned to not travel during nap time, you both will not sleep in the car.
